How did you make the template for it?

We started with a Microsoft Paint file that was 32 pixels tall and 100 pixels wide (first we measured the wall and figured out how many notes would fit on it...it was 32x100). Each pixel in the Paint image represented a note. When we had a image we were pleased with, we counted up the numbers for the different colors and ordered the correct amount of each. Finally we copied the image over into MS Excel so we'd have a grid reference to help us avoid mistakes.
